A decision is an architecture.

When a human makes a decision, it feels effortless. One seamless thought. But when you want AI to make the same decision, you need five layers of infrastructure underneath it:

1. Data ingestion: parsing unstructured inputs into something the system can use.
2. Knowledge and context: connecting the AI to your business rules, supplier databases, and domain expertise.
3. Decision logic: the reasoning chain that scores options and makes the recommendation.
4. Confidence and escalation: knowing when to act autonomously and when to involve a human. This is where human-in-the-loop is designed, not bolted on.
5. Action and feedback: executing, logging, and learning so the next decision is better.
