Five pillars for getting AI into the P&L

Today at the CIO Inspired Summit I shared the framework I created to get AI into the P&L of Tour Partner Group.
Five pillars. Most programmes only work on one of them, the technology. Those are the ones that stall.
- Value: Every initiative is tied to a line in the accounts, and owned by the business, not by IT. Efficiency that never reaches the P&L is not value.
- Design: Redesign the workflow around the decisions you’re going to automate and the data science you will bring to them. Most of the value sits here, and it is the part almost nobody does.
- Foundations: Data that is ready and systems that talk to each other. The returns everyone wants in year two come from the unglamorous work of year one.
- People: Owners, skills and change management from day one. AI changes the reasoning people were valued for. That has to be led, not announced.
- Control: Governance, compliance and ethics built in, not bolted on at go-live. When the board or a regulator asks why a decision was made, you can show them.
Which pillar is weakest in your programme?
Thank you Inspired Business Media team for having me back in Manchester and for this amazing event.
